Our Story.

We believe in freedom and self-sufficiency, of learning how to do it yourself and respecting the stories of those who came before you.

At Howled the Wolf, we’re here to help pass on that knowledge, share the skills, and continue the tradition of caring for our lands and caring for one another. We’re here to protect our wild places and ignite our wild ways.

It all started with a bandana — that humble scrap of fabric we often take for granted, but that can do more than we give it credit for. It’s a testament to doing the work and enjoying the ride. We’re here to be many things when needed and a friend no matter what.

Purpose-driven, intentional, and deliberate.

  • To preserve our wild places and ignite our wild ways.

  • A tomorrow where our wild places remain untamed and true. Where our wild ways persevere and are passed down to future generations through experience and story.

  • To gather goods and people. To slow down. To rest. To celebrate stories and share skills. To preserve hard-earned wisdom and to take care of one another while taking care of our wild lands.

  • Heritage. Authenticity. Community. Nature. The outdoors. Self-sufficiency. Exploration. Freedom. Rest. Play. Conservation. Use + Care.

Deliberate and not by chance, conservation is the careful preservation and protection of something during times of transformation and reaction.

For Howled the Wolf, it’s our conservation of natural resources as well as our spirit, sense of exploration, self-sufficiency, and a bit of good trouble.

With every bandana purchased, 25% of proceeds will go directly to a grassroots non-profit organization of your choosing. We have carefully curated a short list of organizations we believe in and support. Together, we will plant trees, foster children’s relationships with nature, protect old-growth forests, and support wild land conservation across Canada and the United States.

You’re more the sage than the novice, the knower rather than the seeker. You’ve been around the block and know the tricks of the trade. You know the meaning of hard work, quiet days, and watching the leaves change. When the seasons turn, you know springtime will come just after the wintertime and you think there’s something real and good and true about being outside more than you’re in. You don’t mind taking things a little slower, doing it right, having less and experiencing more. You spend time with those who matter, you’re true to your word and humble in your thought. You take things at the pace of nature, do your part, and always leave it better than you found it.
